There is this death (bear with me!)
June 1862 Montgomery 11b 182
Robinson, Rachel
Age 36

Burial at Welshpool, 19 April 1862
Rachel Robinson
Abode Pool Town
Age 36

So the age is right.
This area does not seem to be a hotbed of Robinson activity! It's hard to say who this Rachel might be. No sign in 1861?
Welshpool is not that close to Liverpool, but then again, not so very far away!

There might be a Dodgson connection, details of which I am going to split into a second post.

the school admission is on Findmypast. There are 2 different entries and one has a column which appears to be occupation of mother and in that, for JBR, it says dead.

Were Rachel's parents dead by the 1861 census? John isn't with his Robinson grandparents on that census.

Hi Osprey.
JB's parents were dead by 1861 and in the 1861 Census he is not living with the grandparents whom he was living with in 1871. The other grandparents were also dead by 1861.

The 1856 marriage cert is on Ancestry which is how I found her father etc

Thanks. Wish I'd seen that before I ordered a certificate!

answering my own question

Possible death regs for parents

Lucy Dodgson 67 sept qtr 1853 West Derby vol 8b pg 249

Isaac Dodgson 64 sept qtr 1854 West Derby vol 8b pg 410

children baptised to Isaac & Lucy
Mary 1811
Thomas 1814
Isaac 1815
James 1816
Charles 1818
Stephen 1820
Ann 1821
John 1824
William 1827

Charles married Emma Robinson 16 Nov 1848. 1861 census, Emma is widowed.
Stephen married Mary Ann Hart 27 July 1848. Haven't found them after 1851 as yet.

Yes.
Stephen is in Everton in the 1851 Census, emigrates to Victoria Australia in 1853 (gold rush times). I haven't found any marriage or death leads for Rachel in Victoria (and I know JB stayed in the UK)

you probably have this -
Baptism: 5 Sep 1855 St Bride, Toxteth, Lancashire, England
John Bradford Robinson - Son of John Robinson & Rachel
    Born: 6 Aug 1855
Abode: Hanover Square Prince Edwin Street
    Occupation: Bookbinder
Baptised by: W. M. Falloon Minister
...................
Baptism: 25 Nov 1825 St Peter, Liverpool, Lancashire, England
Rachael Dodgson - [Child] of Isaac Dodgson & Lucy
    Abode: Nash St.
    Occupation: Labourer
    Baptised by: T. Kidd Curate
........................................
do you think Georgina Bradford Robinson may be related ?

Marriage: 9 Dec 1901 St Bridget, Wavertree, Lancashire, England
Walter Henry Lewis - 33, Insurance Manager, Bachelor, 23 Huntly Rd Fairfield Liverpool
Georgina Bradford Robinson - 27, Spinster, 135 Salisbury Rd Wavertree
Groom's Father: James Henry Lewis, Professor of Music
Bride's Father: Francis Robinson, Deceased, General Broker
Witness: John Maxwell McMasters; Florence Mary Anne Lewis

Thanks Garstonite. Yes, I have those 2 baptisms thanks. I think the Minister for JB's baptism was one of the supporters on the application to the Blue Coat school mentioned earlier.

I haven't come across Georgina Bradford Robinson before. I don't have any Georginas or Francis in my records

Amazing jonw65. Great work.
JB did become a schoolmaster and Unitarian Minister. He moved around from about 25yo to Yeovil, Lincoln, Tredegar, Bedminster (Bristol), Bedwelty, Shepton Mallett, Barnard Castle and Hampton in Norfolk. Retiring in Herne Bay, Kent.
He was superintendent of the Boys' Home in Bristol in 1901.
So I suspect you are correct re Ann (who someone on Ancestry has dying in Bristol in 1906).
I will get straight onto the Rachel death possibility in Welshpool. I definitely have not looked there previously.
Thanks so much Everyone!

Confirming Rachel's death certificate has the right age and notes she is the widow of John Robinson
