Thanks very much for that birth.  I don't know of the other person but will keep it in mind.  Also for the information on the mills.
I have not heard that name Abenezer Mather but what it says about him that he was a 'traveller' and on some of the paperwork I have on the later family says 'traveller'.  I will try and find out more on Abenezer!!

Thanks for everyone's help.  I've been trying to find further information to match all of this up.
The latest information I've found is a baptism for son Joseph Mather born in Ysceifiog and it refers to birth at  paper mill and 9 weeks later his death on 29 Jul 1820 and burial at Maes-Y-Coed Flintshire, Wales.   Would anyone know what papermill that would be?

1556Field NameHouse Garden Buildings Paper Mill and PoolLand UseGrass
LandownerGriffiths Hugh Davies (Contd)
OccupierJames Turner Lessee (Roger and John Mather occupiers

The details above are found on Places of Wales

https://places.library.wales/search/53.236/-3.303/18?alt=&page=1&refine=&query=John%20mather&order=desc&sort=score&rows=100&county%5B%5D=Flint&parish_facet%5B%5D=Ysgeifiog&occupier_facet%5B%5D=James%20Turner%20Lessee%20(Roger%20and%20John%20Mather%20occupiers)&leaflet-base-layers_98=on

If you click on the view map it shows where it was on the Tithe Map.
The blue icon will show you where it was on a modern map. You can then use Tithe map overlay to compare old and new
It's Afonwen.

Hope this helps.

Thanks very much Wilcoxon, bit by bit I'm finding things about the Welsh family.  I haven't studied it all yet, I like to take my time.

From memory, Ebenezer is on the '41 Census at Avonwen. He died 1847. He's with the Thomas Parry I also referred you to. His will is on line at the National library of Wales

This review of Flintshire at the start of the 19th Century names only 2 paper works

It might be that he was a salesman, . There is something  on this on Library of Wales but it's a  PDF file so I can't make a link.

Description. A traveller's sample book of the Afonwen Paper Mill, Caerwys, Flintshire ...
