Kia ora

I am wanting details of the death of William Finch & any information available on the Bones - who her parents were her siblings?

William Finch (1541) married Alice Bone 13 July 1559 St Martin, Dorking and they had three children: Miles Finch 11 April 1560, John Finch 26 December 1560, Joane Finch 12 October 1562, St Martin, Dorking, Surrey.

Nga mihi nui (very best wishes)

How can you be certain about the children of William and Alice? The baptisms you have mentioned do not provide the names of the parents.

I ask because there is a burial for a William Finch, married man, on 16th August 1561 in Dorking, Surrey.

Then there is a marriage on 7th January 1562/3 between Christopher Panefold and Alice Fynch in the same place.

Alice, wife of Christopher Panyngfold, was buried on 3rd January 1579 in Dorking, Surrey.

I think it unlikely that both Miles and John were born to the same mother.  The time gap between baptisms is only 37 weeks.  I think you might need to take a while to consider what other scenarios there might be.

Thanks Queenie, I don't have any proof for those.

I suppose Little Nell I would have thought it would be the following year or the previous year for the first one, given the changes in the years.  But I cannot be absolutely sure of that.

I checked the register - April 1560 and December 1560 - still 37 weeks according to my calendar.

Okay thanks.   I do think this is possible, I have a neice and nephew who are less than 10 months apart.
