Cheadle, Cheshire Marriage look up request
« on: Monday 24 April 23 14:40 BST (UK) »
Can some kind person look up the marriage register of Cheadle, Cheshire 1st August 1893 for the marriage of James Owen and Ellen Hall? For some reason, those Registers are not available on Ancestry or Find My Past.

To look up a marriage you have to know which church it took place in

www.cheshirebmd.org.uk shows this one was at St Mary’s Cheadle
Census Information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

The Bishops Transcripts should be on Find my Past but it looks like 1893 is far too late for that parish.

If I remember correctly Cheadle is one of the parishes that refused permission for their records to go online. They will need to be consulted at the Cheshire Record Office in Chester. There may also be a film at Manchester Central Library (now called Archives+) and I suppose the church itself may have a copy also.

Edit - I should probably have added that in this case you would be better buying the certificate unless you are local to the area.
