I might try the archivist and get her opinion.  Hopefully, I will hear back.

Ancestors lady seemed to determine that he has no deceased estate which means he died without a will, money, property, or assets. Unsure of how she knows this? My question was what was in the actual document in that it exists there must be something in it.  There was no reply to further communication, so I found it ultimately unhelpful and I was upset about it.

Also mixed him up with his son and she had not been to see the actual documents at that stage.

I finally plucked up the courage to contact the Western Cape Archives.  I heard back from Erika, but the email was forwarded to another of her colleagues. I received a formal quote for 4,00 rand which is under one dollar Australian, but I am unable to order it because there is no way of paying such a small sum from Australia.
