Matthew Uzielli died 5 October 1860 Ostend Belgium late of King William Street Regents Park. Probate to wife Therese Rosalie and BROTHERS Clement of Threadneedle Street and Theodsius of 114 Piccadilly.

For interest there are a few detailed obituaries in newspapers about Matthew UZIELLI, his humble beginnings and success and fortune. Also mentions of the will, and his estate (£250 000, plus some freehold property and an estate in Belgium).

Thank you Amondg, Kay99 and Maddys52 for all your information supplied also for suggestions about checking the wills.
Interesting that Judah hails from Italy. "Local boy does good' by the sound of things!
Quite a bit to get to work on.

Following all the info and links you have given me, I have at Judah Uzielli's level found he married Ester de Jacob Henriques Da Souza, who was born 1873 in Middlesex England according to the public Uzielli tree.
Judah's father was Moses.
Judah's and Ester's first born, Mathew, was born in London in 1806.
Judah's age is given around 1799, which in view of Mathew's birth date of 1806 is not possible. Judah is shown as being buried July 1823 at the age of 58 so a birth date of about 1765 looks reasonable and not 1799. This date might have been the date that Judah arrived in England?
The names Moses, Judah and Ester and Moderna where Judah is reported to be born all indicate a Jewish family history. Moderna had a large Jewish population, affected at times by pogroms and hostile laws, so it is conceivable to imagine Judah eventually landing up in England. Ester's surname indicates Spain and again moves by Jewish families to escape the various pogroms, laws and the inquisitions.

Be careful of public trees, do your own research and prove it right or wrong.

I haven't found a baptism for Clement as yet, but the fact that he and Theodosius are named as brothers of Matthew who died 1860 (probate Index) indicates they have the same father.

Judah and Esther Uzielli

Matthew born 25 January 1806
Augusta born 23 August 1807
Marcella born 20 February 1809
All above were baptized 24 March 1809 St Botolphs Bishopsgate

Theodosius  born 1816  baptized 3 May 1816 St Leonard Shoreditch,  died 11 December 1869 buried 17th December.
I haven't found  a marriage for him and the probate index gives an original date of 22 December 1871 and had to go before the court again 20 May 1897. Possibly after the death of Matthews wife Therese Rosalie 31 December 1896.
His will if he did not marry should be quite interesting.
--------

Daughter Augusta married Charles Brooks 17 June 1822 St Botolphs Aldersgate
She can be found in 1841 living with brother Theodosius 25 and her mother Esther 60 at Mayfair Place.
1851 her brother is listed as Thomas 35, mother Esther 68, Augusta Brookes 41,
Eliza Brookes 20 and Charles Brookes 26
She died 3 January 1875 Widow.

Daughter Marcella married George Bloor 1 April 1829 Spitalfields, she died 22 November 1873 Hackney
The name John Uzielli Bloor is mentioned in probate of Theodosius Uzielli. 1897

The brothers Clement, Theodore and Matthew Uzielli are all receiving pensions from the French Army
in 1845. All give addresses of London.

There are a number of people researching the Uziellis, Uccellis and Da Souzas on jewishgen.org. It's free to sign up for an account. Places include  London, Modena and Cremona. There are links to contact the researchers. There is also a number of different addresses for Judah in London for Judah and properties insured.
