This is my suggestion for Henry in 1881. Address Chapel Cottage, Bulls Garden  Chelsea. He's with his inlaws - there's an 1878 marriage in Kensington including Henry West and Catherine Condon

Patrick Condon    54
Martin Condon   25
Pat Condon           18
Joe Condon           14
Minnie Condon   16
Harry West            24    Lodger
Kate West                21    Wife

Yes, I have been looking at him as well.
There's a birth registration of a Caroline West, mother Condon, in Chelsea in June qtr 1879.
What happened to her?

And a quick run of Catholic baptisms at Chelsea St Mary to Henry West and Catherine West olim Condon
But are there any birth registrations?

Wow thank you all very much!!
jonw651871 census Caroline's mother Kezia Springfield lives next door at 18 Bulls Gardens will have to look into this one when I get home after the weekend.
Caroline's parents Thomas Phillips & Kezia Elven were married 1827 St Clements Westminster had 10 children and from baptism records lived in Bull's Gardens Chelsea but by 1841 census and an address search they used the surname of Springfield. Thomas died in 1862 registered as Thomas Springfield of 18 Bulls Gardens Chelsea & Kezia   died 1884 at her daughter Rebecca's but this is also surname Springfield.
Henry West & Catherine Condon I am waiting for their marriage cert .... should be here some time next week.

Thank you all for your interest

Looks like Henry died and Kate remarried James McGrath in 1888 - here's 1901. 18 Pond terrace, Chelsea. A Condon family next door.

Piece 72, folio   93, page   52

Kate McGrath    41    Head b Ireland
Caroline West    21
Mary West   19
Ellen McGrath   11
Anthony McGrath    3

Confusingly there's some West children with mmn Condon registers in St Saviour Southwark. Must be a different couple as one is registered in the same quarter as Caroline. Think this is Catherine Condon and John West who married in Lambeth in 1875

There's a couple of admissions for Caroline West into the workhouse - once in 1887 with a Henry two years younger than her, next of kin mother Catherine. Then in 1897 (x2) and 1899 - mention of stepfather John McGrath or mother Kate as next of kin. 1899 has the Pond Terrace address and a note "imbecile?"

Also notes she's RC

1911 Catherine is back to the West surname, as is Anthony. Married 34 years - 12 children, 6 living.

Hi
Sorry for the delay just got home from Yorkshire.
Thank you very much for the information. The marriage cert has arrived and Henry West did marry Catherine Condon in 1878. His father Edward West has died in 1856 with a brain tumour but he doesn't state he was deceased. And I also now have birth cert of Henry's younger sister Caroline born 18 Jan 1857 and it's not stated on that cert that her father Edward  had died 21 Sept t1856.
Henry's older sister Kezia 1st married in 1872 to George Markwick and she doesn't state that her father Edward was deceased.....  but her second marriage in 1896 she does state he is deceased so I'm beginning to wonder of the death of Edward West is the right one!!!
The Workhouse admissions are very interesting can you tell me what site you found them as looks on f********t and can't find them!!!

Many thanks for your help
