Inquest in Newtown 1862
« on: Thursday 08 September 05 13:10 BST (UK) »
I have just received the death certificate for a Jeremiah Owen, aged 88, who died 'accidentally, caused by a fall'. There was an inquest held on 22 November 1862 by the coroner for Montgomeryshire, held at Newtown. His occupation is given as groom, but I feel it might be my relative who had formerly been a weaver.
Does anyone know where I might find the details of the inquest?

All ideas gratefully received as always,
RuthieB

Hi,
You could try Powys County Archives, but  from this, it doesn't appear as though many inquest details  have survived.

Local newspapers may have carried a report though.
