William Reeves born c1840 in Hackney
« on: Saturday 29 April 23 12:19 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am trying to trace the birth of William Reeves who married Rosina Leonard in 1863 in Greenwich. The Census Records all show that he was born 1840 in Hackney, but there seem to be several possibilities the most likely 1 who was born to George & Lydia as William named his first son George. Any help would be much appreciated.

Kind Regards  David

When he married he said his father was George, a cook.  George REEVES a pastry cook is in Shoreditch in 1851 with Mary Ann and William.

Debra - you beat me to it  :)  I came to the same conclusion from the marriage entry and 1851 census.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

In 1841 George is with children Emily (baptised 1833) and George (baptised 1835) in Shoreditch.
