In 1911 Christopher S Gifford [47] was living in Histon Cambs with his wife Annie Emily[47].

In 1894 there is a marriage  in Cambridge ,  Christopher Stanley Gifford and Amelia Emily Lever.
In 1863 Q4 Islington, there is a record of a birth for Christopher Stanley Gifford mmn Evans.
Possible marriage 1862 Nathaniel Gifford and Mary Ann Evans , Lewisham.
Nathaniel Gifford died Chesterton 1894 ... probate names Christopher Stanley Gifford.

In 1871 (Poss) Christopher S Gifford living in East Street Prittlewell, Essex. (not with parents)

Can anyone see details of his parents and  any census records for them and Christopher?

Seems likely that the 1871 census you have mentioned is the right one for Christopher.

There is a Nathaniel & Mary Ann Gifford living in Croydon, Surrey in 1871. He is a draper's assistant born c.1837 in Over, Cambridgeshire and she was born c.1834 in Bermondsey, Surrey. No children with them.

With this information, it is a straight-forward search to find Nathaniel on the other censuses.

Nathaniel and Mary Ann had another son, Walter Alfred, in 1865, but he passed away as a young child in 1867.

1891 Christopher is a servant in Cambridge in the household of Richard Litton. He's transcribed on Ancestry as Grifford

Not found on 1881 yet, nor a trace of Mary.

In terms of Mary Ann, I can see a newspaper article that states that her husband Nathaniel was executor of the will of John Christopher Evans of Rotherhithe, Surrey, who died on 3rd November 1872, along with a James Campbell Evans of Stratford, Essex.

Looking through the will registers, it was actually James Christopher Evans, who was the father of Mary Ann and James Campbell. Their mother was Ann Elizabeth.

Mary Ann is with her parents and her brother in 1851; the family are living in Rotherhithe, Surrey. She is born c.1831 in Bermondsey. Shaved a few years off her age, making her harder to find.

In 1861, she was working as a governess in Islington, alongside her sisters.

Thank you all for looking. It's interesting that Nathaniel is usually found "living" in Over Cambs but is buried in Histon. His probate records him "of Histon, gentleman" and as far as I can see he can only have lived there for a very short period... if at all. No telling where his wife Mary Ann was buried.
