Katherine, Kate, Katie or Catherine
« on: Wednesday 03 May 23 05:41 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone
I need suggestions.
Katherine Dunn who was born at St Endellion, Cornwall circa 1854/1857 last appears on a Census Return for England in 1902 with her husband Seth Dunn (born 1832) and their 4 children, Seth, Beatrice, Katie and Frank living in Exeter.  Seth Sr died the following year (1902) and then the rest gradually disappear except for Beatrice (m. 1903 Henry Frank Hurford) and died in 1964, and Katie (m. 1903 Arthur William Wakeham) and died in 1905.  Seth Jr appears on the 1911 Census living in Wales, married but not living with his wife, Florence Rose Tucker.  Then he, his brother and mother seem to fall off a cliff.  I can't seem to locate and suitable death or marriage records for them in England.
Katherine Dunn appears to have been born Katherine/Catherine Trezise, daughter of Francis Trezise and Jane, nee Hawke, although I cannot locate a marriage record for her and Seth Dunn Sr.  Seth Dunn had previously married Elizabeth Hawke in 1852 and who either died or was divorced by 1881 when Seth & Katherine's first child, Seth Jr was born in Dorset.
Open to ideas.
Thanks for reading my post.
Regards
Stuart McDonald

Oh, you're a star Shaun, really, that solves one ending and confirms the spelling, Kate being short for Catherine.  Am best pleased.  Thank you so very much.

And perhaps I should widen my search beyond the Devon boundaries.  I appreciate your expert assistance ;D

The obituary suggests "licensee", his father Seth Sr was an inn keeper, is that the same thing?  And a widower in 1931 suggests Florence has died between 1911 and 1931?  You're the gift that keeps giving!  Thank you so much.
