The reference to a possible annulment is 1909

There was no annulment, though he assured the lady he was engaged to in Swansea that there had been.

You can read about it free of charge in the Welsh Newspapers online: https://newspapers.library.wales/search?range%5Bmin%5D=1804&range%5Bmax%5D=1919&query=%22seth+dunn%22&min=1804&max=1919

Thanks Shaun, I love it when nothing is straightforward, and the phrasing is delightful....developed a fancy....indeed.
Thank you so much.

Seth disappears from the Glamorgan electoral registers after 1922 so it could well be him on that passenger list for Singapore.

Indeed, the age is about right, but he must have been back for his mother's death in 1932, possibly returned to Singapore and then Hey Presto, he vanishes!

Incoming passenger list for a Seth Dunn - age 45 , an engineer. Address in the UK 114 Church Path Rd., St Thomas, Exeter. Country of last permanent residence Java. Intended future residence Java. He embarked at Singapore and arrived Southampton aboard Teiresias 2 Aug 1923.

His first name has been transcribed as Sett but is clearly Seth on the original.

Java was part of the Dutch East Indies at this time.

Ooh, thank you very much Jo, indeed for thought, that there was no divorce between Seth & Elizabeth, and if he died in 1902 and she was still living, it could never happen and hence no marriage between Catherine & Seth.
I appreciate you looking at things with different eyes.
Best wishes
Stuart.
