Tre - Lyn Inn whereabouts
« on: Wednesday 03 May 23 18:03 BST (UK) »
I've been looking at a map given to me that shows the Tre Lyn Inn at the side of the Carn - Gethen tramway . The suggestion for its location was Blackwood as this was a family area a few generations ago . It shows as the property of Mr D . Davies and contains an area of 53 perches . It sits to the side of both Occupation Road and Parish Road but I've found no location for these names .
I did think that it may have been the Gethin Tramway ( Dramway ) for the Crayshaw coal pits built
1846 - 9 ref . online info . but I've not been able to support this as believe this tramway was on or within the Crayshaw pit sites where no inn would hve been present .
I have no dates but possibly post 1910 as the person who has given me this info . has recently gone through her mothers ' keep sakes ' post her death and believes its from either her childhood or generation previous .
Appreciate any help or knowledge someone may have and apologies that this post may be a little  vague . I'm not able to download the map at present ? don't know why but if I can , it may help .

This is probably irrelevant but I found this advert:

Western Mail, March 27 1900
Quote
For Sale, Trelyn Inn, Fleur-de-Lis, Rhymney Valley; free house.–Apply George Williams, High Street, Fleur-de-Lis

Looking at maps I see a Trelyn Lane in Fleur de Lis.

Rufus Gwatkin, Trelyn Inn, on the 1901 Census was between 3 Trelyn Lane and 12 High street.

Thank you for these replies..the area is not one I have any knowledge of and so I will have to work around maps etc..of the area . The person I'm trying to help came from the Rhondda Valley originally and so may have a better view of the place names etc..
Parish Road and Occupation Road possibly have been changed throughout the years and surprised there is nothing I've found on the Carn - Gethen tramway shown on the map ( running parallel to Parish Road ) . Are Carn and Gethen known terminus points for a coal tramway possibly  ?

Another view of the area in reply # from an earlier map, showing the Butcher’s Arms next to Trelyn Level.
