How fascinating. Makes you wonder just how much archaeology is lurking beneath the waves still waiting to be discovered.

Medical science has come a long way since the mid to late 19th century.  New knowledge is always waiting there to be found.

  I would have liked a bit more information on how the island came to be so far under water. I presume some sea level rise, but there is also mention of dynamic conditions causing islands to move?

Good afternoon,

I assume this is Bird Key (formerly Booby Key) which was lost in 1935. Said to contain graves of prisoners from the nearby hospital and also civil war graves.
