I did look carefully at the marriage of William Kissick in 1885 to Anne Jane Smyth before. But yes, I guess that makes him a brother-in-law, since he is a brother to Eliza Jane's husband James Kissick. I didn't clue in to that at first and was looking for a Johnston/Kissick marriage. Thank you, heywood.

In Henry Johnston's obit in 1924, he not only names a son-in-law Henry Johnston, he names grandsons James and Joseph Johnston which are likely sons of his son Joseph married to Elizabeth Clarke. Separately, he names a grandson Bob Johnston. Could be Robert Henry, son of Henry's son Henry married to Hadassah Cotton. But who is the son-in-law Henry Johnston?

Apparently Henry and Margaret’s daughter Isabella died at age 10 in 1880 in Cranny, Margaret Johnston present, presumably her Mother.
There is the death of a Sarah Johnston, age 17, in Magherafelt Workhouse in 1882 but is it Henry’s daughter? Age is slightly out as his Sarah born 1867.
Henry and Margaret did have another daughter Teresa in 1884 in Cranny.

Could there be an error re son/ son in law?

I did wonder about the relationship, and if it might be a cousin or nephew or something like that. But prior to naming him, Henry said he had two daughters, Margaret McKelvey, and Mrs. Johnston. Don’t know why he didn’t put a first name for Mrs. Johnston, like he did for Margaret.
Henry did name his son Henry in addition to his son-in-law, Henry Johnston. I wondered if maybe the son-in-law could be Charles Henry or William Henry or something like that but I can’t find any Johnston,/Johnston, marriages that fit the bill. Unless it was common law. However, I don’t find any Henry Johnston, on the 1901 or 1911 censuses that might fit the bill either.
