It looks very likely the Tom Dowell listed on the 1876 marriage index alongside Sarah Passmore nee Dowell is her younger brother

1891 has a Tom Dowell b c1851 with wife Mary Ann and children with mmn Whitmarsh

Hi,

No info. about Charles but I might have found Mary's death.

I can't find Mary Mary Ann Hannah Rachel SMITH in 1911 but I think I have her in 1921 and 1939. If I'm looking at the right person she is living in Winchester RD in 1939, this could be her death,

Mary Anne Anna Rachel SMITH
Age:  78
Sep Q 1952 Winchester    6B  562

Regards,
Daisy

Thanks for all your very helpful replies covering the Smith family.   I will now have to obtain a copy of
the 1876 Smith/Passmore marriage certificate to find more about Charles Smith.   Thanks again.
