Zena Annie Lewis
« on: Saturday 06 May 23 21:57 BST (UK) »
Hi all
I'm trying to find any information on my grandmother who i never knew.
Her name was Zena Annie Lewis born 27th July 1923
Died aged 26  14th January 1950
She lived in Bunbury, Cheshire her father was Edward Samuel Lewis the village blacksmith.
and her Mother was Jennie Sybil (Eliza Jane) Goodwin,
She Had an relationship with a man in the Village and that is where my father came from.
her Mother sent the baby away for adoption as it brought shame on the family and Zena went to London to work as a diplomatic courier for the foreign office.
In 1949/50 she got pregnant again and was sent to The Park nursing home in Llandrindod Wells in Wales for either child birth or a termination but she died of being administered Chloroform.

Thanks Dave

She's on the electoral register for 1949 and 1950 at the Hereford Square address on her probate. TThere's two or three other couples at the same address so I assume it's subdivided into a number of small flats

There's a Zena A Lewis at 19 Beverley Gardens, Wembley in 1947 & 48. One other couple at this address - so again subdivided or she's a lodger

There is a tree on Ancestry which names the father of the child.  It also shows Electoral register entries for 1936 then 1947-1950

Hi Dave
is that your tree that names the father of Zena's child who was your father? If so rereading your firstpost it seems you are not wanting information on him but are looking for any snippets of Zena's life such as work experiences, where she lived etc. Am I right?

Yes, it is my tree on Ancestry, the reason I haven't mentioned my dad's father is because I think his grandchildren are still around and don't want to upset the apple cart, as to speak

Electoral register entries for Zena or the father? She'd be too young to be on the register in 1936
