Baptism is on Familysearch.Org for SUSAN Lyne  22 April 1572 Ringwood Father Nicholas

+
JOHN Lynes  26 January 1561 Ringwood Father Nicolas
There is also ;
Elizabeth 1563
Agnis 1563
Henry 1564
John 1564

None of the above have Father named.

I dont think Nicholas would be born c 1559 as he would only be 13 when Susan was born.

Trish :)

Many thanks.  I now think that I have this all wrong, the father I think was John.  The date for Susan is too late, but somewhere I saw a Susan Lyne born 1561.  Ideally I would like to find his marriage around 1561

John Lyne married and had two children: Susan Lyne 14 February 1561 Ringwood, Hampshire, John Lyne 4 January 1563  (perhaps the others you mention are also his children).

Hugh Oviat (1553c) married Susan Lyne (1561) 29 April 1578 Ringwood, Hampshire.

This may be more for my benefit than yours, but I was getting muddled about who was the father of whom.

Ringwood PR transcript shows the following

John, son of Nicholas Lyne bpt 26 Jan 1561/2
Cerrie daughter of Nicholas bpt 14 May 1563

Susan daughter of John Lyne bpt 14 Feb 1561/2
Elenor daughter of John bpt 7 Feb 1570/1

Henry son of Thomas Lyne bpt 7 Dec 1563

Philip son of Christopher Lyne bpt 21 Jul 1564

Children where the father is not named/blank:
Agnes bpt 18 July 1562 (another family - the gap makes it impossible for her to belong to either John or Nicholas)
Agnis bpt 16 Dec 1563
John bpt 4 Jan 1563/4
Elizabeth bpt 19 Feb 1563/4
Henry bpt 2 Sep 1564

The earliest Line/Lyne marriage that can find is for Henry Lyne who married and Alice Leosse 8 Jun 1561 in Ringwood.

Ringwood PRs only commence in 1561, so finding anything prior to that is problematic.

There are a lot of Lyne (occasionally Line) burials in Ringwood between 1561 and early 1600s including
Nicholas Line 4 Jan 1607
Crispan ? 3 Jan 1562
Crispan ? 29 Apr 1571
Christopher 18 Aug 1575
Christopher 6 May 1593
Henry 6 Oct 1581
Henry 16 Apr 1593
Henry 30 Aug 1593
Nicholas 22 Nov 1594
Richard 14 May 1587
Richard 19 Jun 1594

There is also this catalogue entry (Hampshire Records Office) - it may be relevant (or not  :-\ )
11M61/366
Admission in court of manor of Ringwood of Anne Lyne, widow, Richard and Henry Lyne for their lives to close called Lydlarne, next to Knowles Hill
Date   2 Aug 1595

There is also an inventory of John Lyne of Lower Kingston, Ringwood from 1596 - ref 1596AD/44 - but that may be of very little use unless it names any relatives.

Kia ora Nell

Many thanks for all of that.  I think the ones I want were in here:

John Lyne married and had two children: Susan Lyne 14 February 1561 Ringwood, Hampshire, Elenor Lyne 7 February 1570.

Hugh Oviat (1553c) married Susan Lyne (1561) 29 April 1578 Ringwood, Hampshire they had one daughter Margaret Oviat 18 October 1606 Ringwood, Hampshire
Susan Oviat (Lyne) died August 1585, St Peter & St Paul, Ringwood, Hampshire
Hugh Oviat died 17 January 1610, St Peter & St Paul, Ringwood, Hampshire

When there is an inventory I thought there would also be a will, Is this incorrect?

Many thanks

Perhaps I was having a senior moment.... I thought I had looked in archives which I do lots of.  I now have three John Lyne wills, 1591, 1606, 1609.  I haven't finished looking at them but so far haven't found any mention of Susan or Elinor.

Better do some domesticls.

Sometimes not every bit of parchment or paper survived.  Mis-filing can also be a problem.
