This may be more for my benefit than yours, but I was getting muddled about who was the father of whom.
Ringwood PR transcript shows the following
John, son of Nicholas Lyne bpt 26 Jan 1561/2
Cerrie daughter of Nicholas bpt 14 May 1563
Susan daughter of John Lyne bpt 14 Feb 1561/2
Elenor daughter of John bpt 7 Feb 1570/1
Henry son of Thomas Lyne bpt 7 Dec 1563
Philip son of Christopher Lyne bpt 21 Jul 1564
Children where the father is not named/blank:
Agnes bpt 18 July 1562 (another family - the gap makes it impossible for her to belong to either John or Nicholas)
Agnis bpt 16 Dec 1563
John bpt 4 Jan 1563/4
Elizabeth bpt 19 Feb 1563/4
Henry bpt 2 Sep 1564
The earliest Line/Lyne marriage that can find is for Henry Lyne who married and Alice Leosse 8 Jun 1561 in Ringwood.
Ringwood PRs only commence in 1561, so finding anything prior to that is problematic.
There are a lot of Lyne (occasionally Line) burials in Ringwood between 1561 and early 1600s including
Nicholas Line 4 Jan 1607
Crispan ? 3 Jan 1562
Crispan ? 29 Apr 1571
Christopher 18 Aug 1575
Christopher 6 May 1593
Henry 6 Oct 1581
Henry 16 Apr 1593
Henry 30 Aug 1593
Nicholas 22 Nov 1594
Richard 14 May 1587
Richard 19 Jun 1594
There is also this catalogue entry (Hampshire Records Office) - it may be relevant (or not
)
11M61/366
Admission in court of manor of Ringwood of Anne Lyne, widow, Richard and Henry Lyne for their lives to close called Lydlarne, next to Knowles Hill
Date 2 Aug 1595
There is also an inventory of John Lyne of Lower Kingston, Ringwood from 1596 - ref 1596AD/44 - but that may be of very little use unless it names any relatives.
