Cap Badge Query - unknown time period

Good Afternoon all!

A relative has sent me pictures of  double sided locket and we are trying to work out who the people are. One of the clues is the cap badge.

I suspect this is WW1 but I am guessing from her hairstyle and collar. So a hazy guess. Our other photos we have between us are around the inter war years.

I thought it was Royal Artillery but it looks slightly different to any I can find! There are a couple of buttons visible but not the greatest clarity.

Grenadier Guards, I think?

Also, Grenadier Guards have buttons in singles.
Coldstream Guards have buttons in groups of 2.
Scots Guards have buttons in groups of 3.
Irish Guards have buttons in groups of 4.
And Welsh Guards have buttons in groups of 5.

I would say that you are correct on the date of the photos, this is a Victorian Double Sided picture locket, I have a similar one in rose gold, with mine, the top unscrews and the photos are placed back to back and sandwiched between two pieces of bevel edged glass.

It does look like Grenadiers however the button configuration
didn't apply to battle dress only dress uniforms.
Do you have a name for him ?

Unfortunately we don't have names. We have a good knowledge of most of the family history of the person who owned the locket so we are hoping to narrow down the badge so I can plug names into databases to look for medals. Sadly they are fairly common names to the areas they were from.

@KGarrad I think the smudge on the photo tricked me - it made the flames look like they curled to the right and I couldn't match it.

He is not a Grenadier as the dimensions and proportion  of the grenade to the flame are wrong.

7th City of London regiment is a much better fit with a narrower flame.

The RA did wear a smaller grenade on their side caps in WW2 but on the khaki field caps in WW1 the full gun badge was worn.
