« on: Wednesday 10 May 23 09:42 BST (UK) »
James Mexter or Mixter 1806 – 1892 Essex married Mary Ellen Montess/ Montle/Moutell 1822 – 1913 Essex. I have the marriage document from Ancestry confirming this.

Geneanet have a document to say James Mixter married Mary Button also a child’s name Sarah she is also down as the daughter of James Mexter/Maxter and Mary Ellen Montess/ Montle/Moutell

There is no info on Mary Button as to when born or where she is from just her name.

Can anyone help me on this on this?

Thank you.

Have you contacted the tree owner?   Trees are notorious for incorrect info

The Mexter marriage was 1843 so when & where was Sarah born?

1851-1891 census - are Mary Ellen's details the same & do their childrens births show her maiden name?

Just a thought but could the various spellings of Mary Ellen's maiden name be distorted to "Button"

There's no other info on her such as documentation. I don't know how a name such as  Montess/ Montle/Moutell can turn into Button. I think it is someone who has got their facts wrong. No I haven't contacted the person. I have been looking at other trees and they all have James marred to Mary Ellen

Ancestry goes on to suggest that she is Mary Ann Button baptised 7 Jan 1830, Cressing, Essex. The married couple James and Mary Ann Mixter are found in Cresswell in subsequent censuses.

So two different James Mixters?

I can't see anything that has Mary Montell and variants as Mary Ellen?

Also I think you will find that in 1851 Census Marys Father David Montle is born c 1789   Begholt, Suffolk.
Living in Dovercourt with Son William and Family + another Son Philip.
William/Phillip both born Ramsey.

1841 in Ramsey we have;
David Montell 55
Martha Montell 16
Philip Montell 8

FreeREG has bapts Ramsey for children of DAVID/SARAH Moutle
William 26 Jul 1818
MARY 28 Mar 1821 born 21 March*******
For some reason both re bapt 27 Oct 1822
Then;
Martha 26 Sep 1824
Cant see a bapt for Phillip c 1833

David Moutel was buried 1858 age 71
Sarah (Mowtell) was buried 31 Jan 1837 age 45
