FindMyPast email
« on: Friday 12 May 23 10:58 BST (UK) »
I received an email from FindMyPast yesterday informing me my subscription had been updated, as I had changed my membership & hoping I enjoyed the new subs, which starts straight away.

I renewed last January & haven't upgraded, so this is a puzzle. Has any one else received a similar email? I thought at first it could be a scam, but the email came from noreply@findmypast.co.uk so nothing to click on  ???

I also had a similar email from them and as far as I can see, from checking 'My Account', no money has been taken and my renewal date is the same as it was prior to receiving yesterday's email. In other words nothing has changed - I think it may have been a catching up with the paperwork type of exercise.

Hi
Yes I received the same email yesterday, my sub was renewed in April but I also hadn't upgraded. Checked my account details & they are as I expected them to be. Very strange.!

Same received here.
No changes in my account details, but have emailed them to query the purpose of their email.
I'll report back when (if) they reply.

I'm wondering if it is connected to the email they sent out warning that when my sub renews (December) it will be £5 more (before any loyalty discount). Maybe them altering that in the background triggered an automatic mail. We'll see....maybe.

For me the email about the new subscription rate, increase described as only £5 a year with no mention to of loyalty discount, when it would actually be £32 increase, was followed the next day by the email saying I had changed my subscription when I had done nothing at all.  This seemed to me such poor customer communication that I messaged them.  Reply is apologetic, says the email about the subscription change was sent in error and I can check the subscription rate on their website.  I would be more reassured if they communicated more carefully.
