Trying to find Elsie McCannah in 1921
« on: Saturday 13 May 23 19:12 BST (UK) »
I have a family that i can find records for in 1911 and 1939 but i cannot locate them in the 1921 census.
I understand i cannot get the information through this forum but if someone can see if they can find them in the 1921 census and tell me what search criteria the used i can get it myself on FindMyPast.
The details i know are
Joseph McCannah born 1890 in Chorlton
Mother - Annie McCannah nee Lewis born 1880 in Yorkshire.
Annie McCannah born 1909 in Chorlton
Elsie McCannah born 28 Nov 1911 in Chorlton, registered March Qtr 1912
Thank you
RobinOz

johnhood, you got them!
Interesting the record has McConnal but in the transcription below it says "Transcribed by JMcCannah"
Great work, thank you very much.
What search criteria did you use?

I thought you would ask that question. I worked on the basis that Elsie and her mother appear in 1939 with Annie being a widow. Looked to see where Joseph died, 1931 Chorlton. So they were probably there from 1911-39.

Typed in McC* as surname born 1890,and location Chorlton  at the bottom other household member Joseph--bingo

Thanks john, clearly i've got to upskill in my searching duties.
I tired using Chorlton but i think i went wrong with the wildcard bit.
