hi guy not sure on wwhere to look for i formation on this

william colliertin worker, died 5th dec 1841 burial wellington shropshire
need to find names of parents and  there birth places if possible

this is the information on william i have so far any help gratefully received thanks

You give his occupation as Tin worker but the 1841 census shows he was a clerk

Ages from 16 upwards were rounded down to the nearest 5yrs on the 1841 census so he could have been aged between 50-54 in 1841 - birthyear 1787 - 1791

GRO online gives his age as 60 on his death reg but 1841 shows him as 50

Catherine Collier died 1850 - age at death was 70 so birthyear around 1780.  Would appear that William’s birthyear could also be around that year

As William died before the 1851 census there will be no indication as to where he was born.  1841 census should state whether he was born in the county he was living in at the time but this information is not always reliable.

They married in Shifnal by Licence which is available to view on FindMyPast.  It also mentions a Thomas Collier of Newport, Salop an Iron Monger & Brazier.  William & Thomas both signed it.  Thomas could be his father or his brother , it does not show any relationship
