I am having no success looking for the deaths of Kate & George MARSHALL after the 1921 census.
hoping someone can see what I am missing.

Kate NASH baptised 6 Sept 1868 Guildford, Surrey.  Parents Alfred NASH & Clare nee MANN
Siblings. Emily c 1876, Alfred Richard 1880, Clara b 1883

Kate married George MARSHALL  December 12th 1894. at  Forton (= Alverstoke/Gosport Hampshire)
They had just one child Kate Dorothy MARSHALL born 11 July 1897, baptised at Cheam, Surrey.  She married Frederick George MITCHELL in 1922 and died in 1955 Surrey

In 1921 George and both Kates are in  Surrey at Cranmer Terrace, West Horsley
at the 1922 marriage of Kate Dorothy she gives her address as Worplesdon, and the marriage takes place there.  Neither parent is a witness.

MARSHALL, GEORGE    mmn NUTCHER
GRO Reference: 1870  J Quarter in ALVERSTOKE  Volume 02B  Page 499

Son of William MARSHALL & Sarah Ann NUTCHER

His age is fairly consistent  11/12 in 1871,  9 in 1881,

21 in 1891 - soldier at Gillingham (Sapper R.E. Which agrees with marriage cert.)
31 in. 1901 - Blacksmith, born Gosport.  Wrecclesham, Guildford
41 in  1911 - Blacksmith, born Gosport.  Bromley, Guildford
51 in  1921 West Horsley, Blacksmith, born Gosport, employed by W. Primmer, wheelwright.

There is a death of a George Marshall in 1925 in Portsmouth (of 30 Empshott Road) who I had thought was him (as his family came from Portsmouth and probate is to Kate Marshall, widow), but that one was 71 when he died, so born about 1854, while the George married to Kate NASH was born in 1870. Plus the family can be seen at the same address (Empshott Road) in 1921. Clearly a different George and Kate.

I am quite quite sure Kate Marshall is not the Kathleen born in 1866,  single who has a sensational death in Portsmouth in 1940. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/228432922/kathleen-marshall?_gl=1*vfhf05*_ga*MTk2NDMzMDU5MS4xNjcxMTc4MTYx*_ga_4QT8FMEX30*YjI4NmQxNWYtMTFkYi00NDEyLThkMGQtOGEwODUzNjk5ZDBhLjE2Ni4xLjE2ODM0NDQ0ODMuNTEuMC4w.

In 1939 the daughter, Kate Dorothy, is with her husband at The Russetts, New  Road,  Hambledon. There is no indication that either of her parent’s would be the un-redacted entry with them.

FREEBMD gives 5 deaths in Surrey with dob 1870 up to 1960.

1928 George 58. Croydon 2a 406 of 45 Gore Road, Merton  - he is at that address in 1921. Not our man.
1932 George Edward. 61 Croydon 21 413. Our man does not have a second name
1939 George R. 69 Surrey Mid E. 2a 261. Of 20 Alric Ave, New Malden. On 1939 as single and newspaper notice identifies him. Not him.
1939 George 68 Surrey N.E. 2a 11   - A possible but December quarter, so where is he in 1939 register?  Think he could be the George married to a Mary living Hambledon 1872. A farm worker born 1872
1942 George 72 Lambeth 1d 203 - unlikely I would have thought. When only daughter is in Surrey.

For Kate - there is a Croydon death of a Kate Esther MARSHALL age 78  In no other record does Kate Marshall have a second name. And in anycase I suspect Kate Esther is the wife of Albert Marshall a painter and decorator at Dundee Road, Croydon in 1939.

Otherwise I can't really see any deaths that fit well for her.

Not answering your original post but how sure are you the daughter Kate Dorothy died in 1955.

Oh, I am not at all sure!  I took that date from her granddaughter’s tree. Assuming a granddaughter would get that correct. But I should have checked.  Now I have, and clearly wrong.

George and Kate have moved from West Horsley (last sighting autumn 1921 electoral register)

Spring, Autumn 1922, Worplesdon
Council Cotts., Perry Hill
George Marshall
Kate Marshall

Then in 1923 they go to 4 Thatcher's Lane, Worplesdon
Still there in 1927
Gone in 1928

I think maybe they didn't go anywhere and it's the same address as in 1922! (the council cottages)

Thank you for that Jon, that moves them on a bit.
Not at that address in 1939.
