1953 Essex floods: Stanley Gray age 47 MOD war department 'officer'

I have only found Rootschatters dealt with this topic back in 2008,since when rather a lot more water!has passed under the proverbial bridge since then.

However mention was made in regard to a victims' memorial - where is that? and does anyone have a good image to share?

There was also a mention of a large tome (500+ pages) by a council employee and researcher who didn't bother to include victims' names - how sad that a final push omitted to conclude a comprehensive and most worthy effort.

I would appreciate any contributions(family or private knowledge) which will enable, as yet, inconclusive details whether Stanley Gray was personally involved with the disaster. Death registered June Qtr Rochford. Many thanks.

I haven't been able to find a list of those who died in the floods.

This article lists how many people by area and has pictures of a couple of memorials

How the tried searching the Internet for that link?

There are 2 images - one for Canvey Island and one for South Beach.

Many thanks those images are just right - at least confirming that Stanley Gray is not presently one of the victims: the purpose of the research. It continues.
