Missing Jones -Roberts marriage driving me mad!

Any help with this would be hugely appreciated as it is really driving me crazy!
I can’t find a marriage between Evan Jones born Llaniestyn c 1825
 and  Jane Roberts born 1850 Llanllyfni . Father’s name John Roberts a Quarryman.
I know they were married between 1871 and 1881 from census entries.
In 1881 they are living in Pen y Groes Llanllfyni with their children Mary 9 born Llanllyfni,
Ann 7 Llanllyfni and John Robert 1 Llanllyfni.

Added - Looking at the 1881 census was Evan born 1845??

Looking at NorthWales BMD the 1871 marriage was a civil marriage

It was the only one I could find.

Are they on the 1911 census?
That could tell you how long they had been married.
Some say they were married, when they had not married.

An important point to reinforce.  Quite often hours are spent looking for a marriage that never existed.
