I've recently noticed that I have not had notifications for a while;  also I sent a PM to Sarah on two occasions and received no reply.

Looking for advice please.

Have you checked the settings on your profile - under "Modify Profile" there is "Email notifications"? It is possible to turn off email notifications, could you have done this accidentally?

I'm guessing you haven't changed your email address?

Thanks, maddys52, but settings are unaltered and email address has been the same for many years.

Are you receiving e-mails from other sources? Just wondering if it might be something to do with your e-mail provider, but I'm not really an expert.

Just recently some notifications to me from RootsChat are being identified as spam or promotions and directed to unexpected places.

I had a problem receiving emails from hotmail.com addresses recently; soon resolved apart from my sister (Hotmail.com user) and I still can’t get her emails. We’re considering investing in some pigeons!

My email provider assures it’s not their fault…..hmm.

Why not just click on 'New Replies' at the top of the page?  It's much faster, easier and more efficient than futzing around with emails.

It doesn't work for PMs but the presence of new PMs is indicated by a number after 'MyMessages' which indicates the number of unread messages.

I choose not to have notifications but do as Erato suggests and just select unread posts and new replies when I log in.  Personal messages always flag up with a notification on screen when I log in.
