Frank or Frank Edward Chapman b Q3 1880 Greenwich

The above as 'Frank' was recorded as being in the Royal Garrison Artillery from 26 Jan 1901 to 1 Apr 1901 then discharged; his record shows his real father and some of his siblings.
However 'Frank Edward' was recorded as born 26 Aug 1880 St. Paul, Deptford, Kent, serving in Royal Navy 21 Feb 1896 to 2 Sep 1910 according to UK, Royal Navy Registers of Seamen's Services, 1848-1939.  He died at the Seamans Hospital Greenwich as 'Frank Edward' in 1922 and his widow was correctly recorded whom he married Q4 1907 Woolwich.
Could he have been in both services at the same time by changing his name a bit?

I think I may have mixed up these 2 people and Frank Edward is not my ancestor.

No. Frank Edward was serving on HMS Excellent at that time.

I haven't looked at the army record to check dates but based on the information provided it would seem that these two Frank Chapman records are for different people.
