Elizabeth KILBY Missenden ca 1700
« on: Tuesday 23 May 23 14:51 BST (UK) »
My 5 x great GM Elizabeth Kilby married Robert MOORCRAFT by licence at Little Missenden in 1713 and they then settled in Warfield. However, I have been unable to identify any likely KILBY families for her origin.

Any suggestions welcome

Slight difference on dates but I guess this is the Marriage

Robt. MORECRAFT of Bray, Berks to Eliz. KILBY
03 Oct 1717   Buckinghamshire   Little Missenden : St John the Baptist : Phillimore's Transcript

Have you found any children for the above?

Distance from Little Missenden

Bray Berkshire 13 miles.

I assume Warfield, Berkshire 17 miles.

I do not see any records for Elizabeth in Bucks or Berks but quite a few in Hertfordshire, the nearest below.

12 Miles

Thanks, that will teach me not to cite the date from memory.

A marriage settlement between Robert, a labourer of North Marston, Bucs, and Elizabeth Kelbey, a spinster of Little Missenden was made on 1 October 1717 with William Line, tanner and Thomas Taylor, husbandman, both of Little Missenden
They had at least 2 children (Robert and Elizabeth) baptised in Warfield but probably another daughter Ann who married there. The parish register for the early 18th century was in very poor condition when microfilmed and much is illegible

At least the Watford baptism is a plausible distance away and date.
