Help needed
« on: Wednesday 24 May 23 15:38 BST (UK) »
Wondered if any of you could help me? I am trying to find the correct parents of Catherine Wedgwood, born Burslem Staffordshire abt 1732..who married a Thomas Lovet/Lovett in 1754. The problem I have Some trees have her married to a William Willet, other trees married to Thomas Lovatt...I wondered were there two Catherine Wedgwood's born around the same time. I think the Catherine who married Willet was the sister of Josiah. So who is the Catherine who married Lovatt?

Thank you all, I think the one that says Thomas and Mary is the Catherine who married  William Willet and not Thomas Lovatt...

The parents of Josiah Wedgwood( famous Potter) was Thomas and Mary Stringer. His sister Catherine married William Willet..So where does Catherine Wedgwood who married Thomas Lovatt Fit?...I am assuming she belongs to this family as it's the same area.

The other marriage in 1754 was also by licence - both said to be from Newcastle under Lyme - William was a widower, and Catherine is a Milliner aged either 25 or 21!!!!  Again the Allegation is available on FindMyPast.  Josiah Wedgwood is a Bondsman and signatory.

I thought maybe she married twice but it seems both Catherine's married in the same year. I wonder if they were cousins?
