Walthamstow area info .

I've just returned from Walthamstow after photographing the site of a past family house named Union Rd from 1870's .

The info . I've looked at this morning online shows Walthamstow was in this district at the time . Dare I put 2 and 2 together and believe that he was buried in the town..I noticed the Queens Rd Cemetery while I was there which was only approx . 200 yards from the house and opened just 7 years before his death . That could be a possible burial place .
Is there anything online to suggest where his burial place might be ?
Which authority would I look to contact for further info . baring in mind changes in district etc..through time ?
The Melville name on Rootschat has offered many different threads over time as JWM was also possibly John William Bevil ( a believed bigamist ) who has quite a history through London and to the west via Reading , Oxford , Cheltenham through to family connections in Bristol and Cardiff .
The story is very long winded and has been added to on Rootschat through the years by posters .
At this time I am specifically looking at the death of JWM here in this district . I don't believe the death cert . will be of help for identifying the place of burial only the reg . district ( and residence ) .
Appreciate any pointers in the right direction as to a further source of help .

Don't think he is buried at Queens Road (records are on ancestry)
There is a John W Melville buried 2 July 1878 at Nunhead Cemetery, Southwark (Deceased Online)

Sounds right, since a death announcement in The Essex Standard has his death as June 29th.

jonw65 thank you . Whats interesting about that is the distance and districts between reg . district and pos . burial place . Not sure if this was common ?
Also , his wife ( Harriet Melville..although there is no known info or record of the marriage we've found through the aforementioned Rootschat info . ) , is known to be brd . there at her death..

Yes, Only 4 names on page 79 instead of the usual 10 on FreeBMD.
Vol 4a Page 81 is the start of Epping deaths
So the death of JWM was registered near the end of the quarter, i.e. late June.

Henry Frankland, 0, is also on vol 4a page 79
He was buried at Queens Road, 26 June 1878 (age 4 months)

It does look good for the JWM burial at Nunhead, 2 July. Not sure there are any other likely candidates.
As to why he was buried there, I don't know. They aren't always buried where you'd expect.

Harriet and a John B plus some Melville Fowlers are also buried in the Nunhead Cemetary same grave

Hi sandiep..the Fowlers are through mrg . to a daughter Jessie from memory . The cemetery was massive I believe and in a state from previous comments elsewhere . Not sure if grave is in a good state . Thankyou
