According to the divorce of Arthur Edward Myers and Sarah Turner (married 16 July 1899 St Marys Wolverhampton Staffordshire)  - Florence Maud Myers  and Albert Edward Christian George Myers   stayed in the custody of the petitioner.  Decree nisi 19 April 1912

Albert E C G Myers seems to appear on the UK 1939 register, other names blanked out. ............
So did he return to the UK ?????

Death of Albert Edward Christian George Myers registered March 1968

MYERS    ALBERT E C G    66    NEW FOREST    6B   599

married 1947

Albert E C G Myers
Registration Date   Jul 1947 (Jul-Aug-Sep)
Registration district   New Forest Hampshire
Spouse   Florence E Derby  (remarriage maiden name Florence  Howe)
Volume Number   6b Page number   1016

May need that second marriage cert to conform marital status.

At 387 Bourgoes Street in 1921 are Albert Edward Turvey and his wife Mary Ann with other family over the page :

Albert is transcribed as Alphonse here and on Ancestry.

Hi,
This is fantastic, thank you ever so much for your help. This had become a brick wall and now I can move on with my research.

This looks like the Turvey family in the 1911 Canada census. Same address, 387 Bourgeois. Looks like daughter’s name might be Ila?

This is great, thanks ever so much for your help, her given name was really hard to make out on the marriage doc as was her surname.
Thanks for your help in placing the family.
Best wishes Emma

The death certificate linked did give the correct names.
Hope the remainder of all those hours work is ok.  Nice to know someone is reading thru.  :)

Thanks

Dear Sandra,

I don't know where to start to say thank you for all of the information that you have provided and for all of the time you generously gave to help me.
This has been a brick wall, we had no idea about Ila until recently.
The obit address for Albert's step mother Edith Sexton and father Arthur were really helpful confirmatory articles.
I hadn't been able to view newspaper.com's articles before and the clippings were so helpful.
The info from Gladys' wedding was really helpful too.
The obits for Mary Ann Turvey were particularly helpful in confirming her daughter's given and married names. I am assuming Ila became Mrs Frank Minus of Gary, Indiana as this is the only daughter unaccounted for.
Thanks also for Albert's sibling's obits, I had never been able to see them before.
As you rightly say Albert Edward Christian George Myers' mother was Sarah Ann Turner, not Edith Sexton as mentioned in his marriage to Ila. In 1939 he was with his sister Florence Crowther née Myres who was my lovely great grandmother.
Albert her brother has always been a bit of a mystery, we have no idea when he came back to the UK or whether he divorced Ila or was just parted long enough for the marriage to become void. We don't even know if they had children together.

Thank you so much for helping me with this brick wall and for showing me information I had been searching for for years and never found.
I wish I could express my gratitude better but please know you have made a massive difference for the better in my family tree.
Best wishes
Emma

Thank you.

Have been looking to see if there was a newspaper announcement for that 1968 death of Albert Myers (New Forest) - no luck so far.
Might be worth asking that question on the Hampshire board to see if someone else can pick it up.
(link this thread if you can)
Meanwhile I'm still trying.  :)

Didn't pick him up on a UK return passenger list on ancestry - that could be worth looking for - sometimes find my past is best option ?

Regards
Sandra
