Merchant Navy record
« on: Saturday 27 May 23 16:02 BST (UK) »
Hi All,

I would like to find my Dad’s merchant navy record - I think he didn’t stay in long and as far as I am aware he was an officer (don’t know which kind) he was born 1946 in Glasgow. Is there anywhere I can find more info online? I think it was roughly the time period of 1965 to 1967.

Thanks 😊

TNA guide:

Looks like there are no online records for the years you are interested in.

Hello,
You would need to get hold of his form CRS 10 which will hold his service record. It will be held at TNA Kew in BT 382 but I can't tell you which piece unless I know his full name and dob. Those records stopped in 1972 so he should have a file. Unfortunately BT 382 is not available online but he may also have a seaman's pouch held in BT 372. If you don't want to give his name publicly then you can send me a pm if you so wish.
Regards
