" i think the thomas i am looking for was in the royal navy and therefore missing in the census records. thank you"

You are researching the origins of Thomas WILLIAMS. Where do you see him to be in the Navy?

And your Thomas WILLIAMS is definitely the man who married Jane NICHOLSON, 1837?

What is on the marriage certificate that you have?.  What occupation for Thomas?

What church do they marry in?

What names for witnesses?.

Is it a civil register marriage certificate?

Do all parties sign their names?
