Hi, can anyone help me find john holden on the 1871 census please,

John Holden Born .1827 richmond, surrey, his wife was sarah holden born 1832 in croydon

There children were

amy holden born 1859, richmond surrey, died 1863

John charles holden born 1860 richmond, died 1863

sarah emma holden born 1862 richmond, surrey, died 1869

amy caroline holden born 1864 richmond

any help would be great

There is this entry which may be Amy

Amy Holden 6 yrs b Richmond, Surrey
She is a visitor in the household of Sarah Young and  family in Kingston on Thames

Do you have the family in later records?

There is a Sarah Holden, 39 yrs, b Croydon who is a servant (sick nurse). She looks to be unmarried though, it’s a very poor record.
1871 1088/94/42 - Brighton.

Did his wife marry again as a widow in 1872 to a Joseph Finch ?

There is a Burial for a John Holding
St Mary Magdeline Richmond Surrey
17 March 1866 age 38
He died in the union house might be worth checking out

Hi,I had trouble finding them in 1881 aswell, but i did find a record for a death for 1868, but the record was hard to read.
As for the second marriage i think you may be right

This looks them on the 1881 census at 16,Croydon Street Marylebone London
Joseph Finch age 41 occupation carpenter
Sarah Finch age 40 born Croydon
