Henry Ribbons 1860
« on: Wednesday 31 May 23 07:50 BST (UK) »
In 1911 Henry Ribbons is living with his wife Agnes (1871) , three children Harry (1895) Arthur (1898) and Ernest (1900), and Henry's mother Mary Jane Ribbons (1835).
Henry was born in London, Agnes and the three children in Renfrew Paisley and Mary Ann in Ottery St Mary, Devon.

Henry's parents were Timothy and Mary Jane Ribbons (née Turpin). Living Wandsworth 1861 - 1881

I cannot find the details for Henry's marriage to Agnes, the births of the children or any information on the parents of Agnes.

Can anyone help?

Thank you. One of Henry's brothers was given the name "Lovelace".  Joseph Lovelace Ribbons 1865.

Can you see the parents of Agnes?

I can make a guess, looking at Scotland's people, but you need to purchase the marriage certificate. It is a Scottish one so will name both her parents. Only 6 credits, so not expensive.

I found in 1871 Agnes McGee living with William and Ann McGee. 70 Love St.  ...... Renfrew

also in 1891 Agnes Mcgee living with Ann McGee Widow Paisley .... Renfrew.

In both instances Agnes is recorded as b. 1871 Paisley.

Could this be her parents?

I think it probably is. But, as I said,  you need to buy the Ribbons/McGhee/McGee marriage to positively take steps back.
I think Agnes's parent's marriage could be in 1869 - But you know how easy it is to find names and think they are yours!
