Henry Swinburne of Newcastle upon Tyne
« on: Thursday 01 June 23 14:07 BST (UK) »
Hello.
Can anyone help me confirm that Henry Swinburne, son of Richard Swinburne of Hewthwaite Hall, Cockermouth and Eleanor Bouche (bap. Cockermouth 1665) was, as stayed online, the Henry buried at St John's Newcastle 4 July 1716.
He apparently married a Mary Thompson at Cockermouth 1690. She died 1691 and he remarried 11/1691 Anna Peile.
There are othe Swinburne families in Newcastle at the same period who might be relations. Baptisms of a Henry, Elenor, Richard and Anthony between 1692 and 1709 might be his children.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks, Craig

Administration Bond 26 Oct 1716  Henry Swinburne of towne and county of Newcastle upon Tyne to Anna Swinburne

there 'may' be a death date somewhere within that - you'd need someone with better eyes than me to decipher it :-)

starting the search there, as well as the admin bond for Henry, there is also a will for Anna Swinburne, a widow, of Newcastle proved in 1729 which may provide further clues

Hi
It looks like she leaves everything to her daughter Anna Swinburne

Does that sound like your family?

Many thanks all for all your posts and follow-up information for me to go investigate.
My sincere apologies for the time it's taken to get back and thank you all. Excuse is I've been in Greece for the past 6 weeks without basic internet access and I discovered your replies had gone into my spam folder.
However thanks so much. This all gives me more leads to investigate further.
