Robert Paul and Elizabeth Yates marriage c1854??
« on: Thursday 01 June 23 16:05 BST (UK) »
Hi
I have Robert Paul born c1823 Westminster and Elizabeth Yates(MMN using GRO for the births of all the children found on censuses) on 1871 census with Elizabeth Paul their daughter born 1857 Islington (using GRO but she gives St Pancras and Kensington as her dates of birth. I think this is because subsequent siblings were born there as well as St LukeChelsea??) Elizabeth gives her place of birth aswiltshire on the 1871 census and I found her in the Workhouse in Kensington 1901 where she gives it as Staunton Wiltshire. Haven't found her or Robert on other censuses yet, as that might confirm her birthplace.

The other children are Mary Ann 1855 Islington, Robert 1859 Islington, unnamed girl 1862 st pancras (can't find on census or deaths), Lucy 1863-4 st Luke Chelsea, Lucy 1865 st Luke Chelsea, George 1868 Kensington, Rhoda (transcribed as rodlea 🤪 on the 1871 census).

It's really only Robert senior, Elizabeth Yates and Elizabeth Paul junior that I'm interested in.
The parents marriage would be good. Then I can work backwards for them.

I also don't have Elizabeth Paul junior's marriage to her husband George Marsh.he was born 1851 Glanford Brigg, Lincs but their children are all born in St Pancras and Kensington .

Thank for your help.

Do you mean to say that you have located each and every child in the BMDs? It's more useful to us to list the BMD details rather than "as stated on census"

I wasn't convinced that each kid had been found and verified on BMDs as no 1/4 was given, and Lucy has 2 different birth years against her name.

Hi sorry ... Realised I hadn't made it clear. I used both censuses and GRO to find all the children. Also the death of Lucy #1
I doubletook and checked her just in case.

I think I found Elizabeth senior living asa lodger with James minall (born c1811 lambourne Berks) in 1851. Thought maybe his wife was her sister, but alas, her maiden name was brett, not yates or yeates.
There's a baptism in 1829 of an Elizabeth yeates at Stanton fitzwarren to Richard and Elizabeth. So I think that these are her parents and that Stanton is Staunton, ās i cant find a Staunton in Wiltshire?

Didn't give quarter as was already a long message and I'm more interested in the two Elizabeths and Robert. It was just really to help with making sure we were all looking at the same family as it would be more than coincidence to find them on the other censuses with the same children etc

Thank you though.

Elizabeth is enumerated in Kensington as PANE in 1881 - Piece: 40, Folio: 62, Page number: 72.  Robert and Lucy are with her and George is also indexed in that household with same reference on both Ancestry and FamilySearch, however you have to go to  Piece: 40, Folio: 66, Page number: 1 to find him on the next page.  George and Elizabeth MARSH are also at the same address, listed after George.
