This is a bit better. I can't read the first bit but it goes on to say that ....Watson (?) awarded gold medal by president of the USA for his services in assisting to save life from the American schooner Alice Lord on 17th January 1915....

LASHED TO THE MAST.
TERRIBLE ORDEAL OF A SCHOONER'S CREW.
News has reached Queenstown from New York of the loss of the schooner Alice Lord on the Caroline coast during a hurricane, two of the crew being drowned.

The captain and the remaining six members of the crew lashed themselves to the mast, and after several days' buffeting by the sea were rescued and landed at New York.

AMERICAN REWARDS FOR GLASGOW SEAMEN.
The Board of Trade have received through the Foreign Office the following testimonials, which have been awarded by the President of the United States to the persons named:-
A gold watch and chain for Mr J. H. Brown master; a binocular glass for Mr M'Kellar chief officer; and gold medals for G. Clarke apprentice, and M. M'Donald and P. M'Arthur seamen, of the steamship Marina, of Glasgow, in recognition of their services in saving life from the wreck of the American schooner Fuller Palmer on January 15, 1915.

A gold watch and chain for Mr T. H. Milne master; a binocular glass for Mr E. J. Williams, chief officer; and gold medals for Mr H. Lambert, steward, and J M'Lanahlan, J. Finlay. J. M'Lennan, J. Watson, A. Ferguson, and J Ritchie, seamen, of the steamship. Mombasa, of Glasgow, in recognition of their services in saving life from the wreck of the American schooner Alice Lord on 17th January 1915.
