He did marry Emma Cooper in 1913, then he seemed to do a runner, was in the army in WW1 then married in 1919.  Am wondering if it was a bigamous marriage or was he divorced.

Canadian Attestation Papers for William Arthur Yeo  (4/10/1881 Northam Prince Edward Island) name next of kin as John Yeo - are you married - No.

Hi,

In that time frame, divorces were very difficult to get and very expensive, so most didn't.

William is not listed in the Canadian Parliamentary Divorces 1826-1946

Within his attestation papers that Sandra provided, there is one mention of Emma Yeo,
719 2nd Street, East, Calgary, Alberta.
In the 1921 census she says she is a widow.
Yeo, Emma, age 43, b. England, (W)widow, chambermaid hotel
Yeo, Margaret age 7, b. Alberta, school
