Samuel Cork wife Dinah Brayford 1891 Census
« on: Saturday 03 June 23 21:34 BST (UK) »
i am searching for a Samuel Cork born in 1858 in Chesterton and his Wife Dinah Brayford born in 1857 in Newcastle Staffordshire. I have them in the 1881 census with their son William and i have her in the 1901 census as a widow with children William, Beatrice and George. I think her husband Samuel died in 1895.
I can't locate them in 1891.
Can i have some assistance please.
Rob

I can't readily find them either. Definitely not at the same address as the 1901 (Ravens Lane, Audley). To help others, children with Dinah CORK in 1901 are:

William  Dec qtr 1876  Newcastle under Lyme (6B /81)
Beatrice  Jun qtr 1886  Newcastle under Lyme (6B /89)
George  Dec qtr 1889 Newcastle under Lyme (6B /71)

Found an article Illustrated Police News  2 December 1911

Gas Explosion, Jammage Pit, Bignall Hill Colliery. 6 men lost their lives - George Cork

As it was early December there may have been an enquiry that delayed  the reporting of his death.
Registered January 1912.

ADDED
Also in the Sunderland Daily Echo 27 November 1911

Possibly relevant - if the family were in Wood Lane (as the 1895 article wivenhoe found), I can't see Wood Lane Audley (or Boon Hill nearby, or Bignall End) on the findmypast address search for 1891 census. (It is there in 1881 and 1901.) So perhaps the census for that area is missing?  :-\
