Just found the backwards R against Vernon Bassett, 26 Sep 26, S, At school. That too has a partly hidden added entry to the right - looks like 6 over 2 something?
Checking the significance of a reversed "R" comes up with last letter of the cyrillic alphabet and references that don't apply to this situation.
