« on: Monday 05 June 23 20:23 BST (UK) »
Fresh pair of eyes please ..I’m still struggling to find the grave of Frederick Downton died December 1924 aged 62 and his wife Martha Maria Downton died 1950 aged 85 ..
Possibly buried either great Wyrley or cheslyn hay cemetery near Cannock staffordshire
Any help would be much appreciated ..

The Staffordshire burial index, below, is on line but the places mentioned are not listed.
I checked the years mentioned and no Downton's in the rest of the county.

Colin
Clarke, Trickett, Orton, Lawless, Norton, Detheridge, Kirby, Goodfellow, Wagstaff, Lowe, etc.

Checked British Newspapers - can't see any death notices.

A couple of articles: Not sure if this is your family

Staffordshire Advertiser - 21 November 1931

Speeches were made by the Chairman and Messrs. F J DOWNTON etc.   etc.

Couple of earlier ones from the Cannock Chase Courier,

Saturday 15 May 1909

Frederick DOWNTON from the same neighbourhood was likewise summoned and in this case the mother also appeared.

There is an entry for both of them on findagrave as to being in cheslyn hay cem, plus plot details but no grave pic. The other thing you can do is contact cheslyn hay local history group if you are on face book as they will have info. Also check gravestone photo resources site , think they are called gravestone photographic resources now. They have cheslyn hay gravestone photos you'll need to press the england flag, select county and then cheslyn hay. I've justchecked and they are not on there.
