Fulton proved quite productive re. George. Am starting to broaden search for Caroline. Have her death notice (already posted at #5)) but there's an obit also which identifies birth place as Belfast.

Thank you Sandra yes this is her first husband who died young. She emigrated to US a few months after he died. She ditched her married surname McGee and reverted to Hobson after arriving in the states.
Thanks for all your info. I would just love to find her in the 1920 US census, but to no avail. She may have been in a care home, as she would have been in her 80s by then. She died in 1924 and as I believe her year of birth to be 1834, means she lived to the ripe old age of 90!

Thank you. Yes that’s what I thought too. The flu pandemic of 1918. She recovered though, thankfully.  :)
