"Ted" Alexander death
« on: Wednesday 07 June 23 00:32 BST (UK) »
I would like to find a death for Ted Alexander. Trees on Ancestry suggest first name is Edward however I have only seen him referred to as Ted
He seems to have been born abt 1929 and died 2011-2018 in British Columbia. He had two brothers who have died. Arthur Alexander died 27 Apr 2011 Madera Park. His obit indicates that Ted was living in Garden Bay which is part of Pender Harbour. John Alexander  died 16 Dec 2018 Vancouver and his obit indicates that Ted was deceased. Frustrating trying to find someone with a nick name.

Obit here:  http://www.radioalumni.ca/x_AlexanderTed.htm
(scroll down a wee bit for the full obit)

Edit:  The above website says the obit was found at inMemoriam;  here is the same obituary from that site:  http://www.inmemoriam.ca/view-announcement-552264-william-theodore-ted-alexander.html

I think this is the same obituary, but has a nice picture of him:

The link may take a second to jump to the right page.... if it doesn't, you are after page 17 of 44.

Excellent. Much appreciated
Any chance of finding out who wife Eileen was? On the 1974 Voters List she is shown as Nora Eileen. The earliest that Eileen appears is the 1962 Voters List. I could not find her death on remembering.ca nor on inmemoriam.

Any chance of finding out who wife Eileen was?

A possible maiden name for Nora Eileen was "Waugh".

In the 1958 Voters List, Mrs. Eileen Argent (which from the above obits we know was her first married name), is living with Theodore Alexander, radio operator, at 3269 W 49th Ave, in Vancouver.

In 1955, there is an obit for a 65 yr old Minnie Waugh, who had been residing with her daughter, Eileen Argent and grandson John, at 3269 W 49th Ave, in Vancouver.

As long as there was no remarriage of Minnie, then Waugh should be Eileen's maiden name.  If Minnie had remarried.... well.... good luck with that one!

Once the 1931 census is searchable, you will be able to confirm, providing Nora Eileen was born then.

If searching Minnie Waugh, she DID pass away in 1955, as opposed to cemetery/findagrave which says 1953.

This is her death reg:  https://search-collections.royalbcmuseum.bc.ca/Image/Genealogy/666cd324-ad57-42f1-be13-23ae61affbbb

Thanks bbart

Mountain View Cemetery shows John Waugh died 7 Jan 1942, Minnie 24 Apr 1953? and David Frederick Argent 3 Dec 1949.

Added- David Frederick Argent was a 5 year old. Death reported by Eileen Waugh which was mother's maiden name

Hang on!

It is possible that Minnie did remarry.

Check into the possibility of the surname Shields.

Minnie, from her death reg, was born Lyttle.  There is a marriage for Minnie Lyttle marrying a Robert Charles Price Shields in 1923:

Robert died in 1935.

I am out of time at the moment to look further, but this seems highly possible Minnie did remarry.
