Church of Ireland baptism 1831 St. Munchin Limerick
« on: Wednesday 07 June 23 07:38 BST (UK) »
Hello all,  Looking for a possible baptism for Richard Jones in late 1831 or 1832.  His parents
William Jones and Mary Healy were married in St. Munchin in 1831.  Richard Jones emigrated
to America in 1850 and the US census 1900 records his birth as September 1831, Ireland.
I am uncertain of the place of baptism so am assuming St. Munchin in the absence of any other
information.  The family also had a possible connection to Abbeyfeale.

Can anyone guide me to the possible location of St. Munchin Church of Ireland baptism records for
1831/32 please?  I am in Brisbane, Australia.

Regards,
Jen.

Hello dublin1850,  That is the correct couple but it is an interesting find as the record I have
for the marriage has a date of 7th March, 1831 not 7th November.  I found the information online
as a typed transcription of the registers of St. Munchin Church of Ireland, Limerick.  Was the
record you located a copy of the church record or a transcription?

Jen.

It's a transcription, so beware.
as far as I know the baptismal records for St. Munchin's are still held in the parish.

March would be a much more usual month for marriages in those days, unless there was a need for haste.

Thanks dublin1850, I will be cautious  ;)  I will work on how to access the baptismal records of
St. Munchin Limerick as first born Richard may have been baptised there.

Kind regards,
Jen.
