Look for the will of Alexander Crossett he died late 1901 or early1902 aged 37 buried in Odd Fellows cemetery, newspaper entry is 2 January 1902.

He left a will $11,500 to his mother and sisters apparently he ran a saloon at the corner of Savery and Garard.

It's the address again

ADDED found it not useful, he was son of Alexander and Ann Crossett, left his estate to his mother Ann and sister Sarah Crossett

There is an online tree that says Mary Crossett died June 12, 1879 in Philadelphia. Family search has her burial record. Died at 1327 Savery Street (same address as late husband John), widow, age 88, buried June 16, 1879 in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

persons buried in the Old Odd Fellows now defunct cemetery were likely removed to Lawnview, Rockledge, Mountgomery Co. or to Mount Peace. I phoned Lawnview and they are to call me back after they look in their archives.

I believe that William John Crossett was a brother to James Crossett. William died Dec 30, 1889 and his wife Elizabeth died May 6, 1887 and she has a short obit in the Philadelphia Inquirer of May 9 which I cannot access. According to her death record, she is also buried in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

In 1850,William John Crossett/Crossit is living next door to his probable parents John and Mary. This family is building. John's son Thomas is living with him in 1850.

I have found John's burial Oct 14, 1862, also in Odd Fellows, transcribed as Cossar. Section N, Lot 341. Have yet to find out where these cemetery these burials were moved to.

Thank you, Sandra. I am still trying to find out Mary’s maiden name which James’s death in 1927 does not have. I don’t know if William’s death would have it. In the meantime, I have written to a likely church in Ireland to find the marriage of John and Mary and/or the baptisms of the 4 children that I know of.
