Not sure if you have this info, but James & Mary Ann were married in Holy Trinity Church, Sunderland.
Unfortunately Sunderland Local Studies is closed until some time in August, where you would have been able to obtain a copy of the marriage.

Possibility it may be staffed for general enquiries you could try contacting them to see if someone could help.
