City Of Oxford Freemen / Apprenticeships

Evening all,

I've had a look on Ancestry and FindMyPast for the info and on Google. Maybe I am missing the keywords.

I found a John Colston becoming a freeman of the city of Oxford following an apprenticeship as a breeches maker.

Apprenticeship
8 OCT 1812 • Oxford, Oxfordshire, England
Became a freeman of the City of Oxford on completion of his apprenticeship to William Bennett, breechesmaker.

Where can I find out more info and find out if I can locate copies of the documents?

John born Iffley 1778
Died Oxford 1856
Married a Mary Johnson in 1815 in Oxford.

If you haven't done so already, check FindMyPast newspapers/periodicals for JC in the "Oxford University & City Herald, 21 Sep 1822" - tho' it doesn't contribute to your apprenticeship search.
