Mr Lamplugh Help need

I have never searched in South Africa and am lost.
I did try F.S. and a few links here but don't know where to go.
My Target is;
Leslie Lamplugh who was born on 16 Jul 1915 in Darlington, Durham, England. He is the 2nd son of John William Lamplugh ( 1888-1955 ) and Mary Jane Stonehouse (1884-1970)

In 1921 he is living at 15, Gilmour Street, Thornaby-On-Tees, Thornaby, Yorkshire (North Riding), England with his parents and brothers, Robert, David William, and John Stanley.

In 1939 he is living at 25 Park Avenue, Thornaby-On-Tees, Thornaby on Tees, Yorkshire with his wife
Alexandrina born 1913. Leslie is an  Draughtsman in the Steelworks.

I then find him heading for South Africa
Mr. L. Lamplugh ( No wife traveling)
Age 31
9 Cambridge Road Thornaby-on-Tees (address in England)
Destination port Cape Town.
Country South Africa

That's as far as I can get. Hoping someone can give me a push in the right direction. I am still trying to find his wife.

(So, looks as if 2 children were born in Sth Africa)
